Beyaz Kelebekler (White Butterflies) was founded in 1963 by five young musicians (Rifat Eke, Altan Eke, Ender Akacan, Behzat Kutlubag ve Bülent Ortaç) attending Kabatas Boy's High School. Their professional careers began when they entered Turgut Akyüz' group. In 1970, on the way to a concert in Adapazari, they lost Rifat, Altan and Behzat in a traffic accident. Taking on four new members, the group continued, going on tour in nearly all the countries of Europe. In 1975, Beyaz Kelebekler hit the top of the charts in Holland with their song "Sen Gidince" (When you go), written by Ercüment Ates.
